Discovery should begin with your mood and your people—not whoever paid to be promoted.
Why we're here
Picturelock is for the friend who watches the trailer after the movie, checks the cast before the credits end, and always has one more recommendation.
We built it because the things we watch become part of how we know each other. A rating can start an argument. A list can explain a person. A recommendation from the right friend beats a thousand anonymous suggestions.
THE SHORT VERSION
Discovery should begin with your mood and your people—not whoever paid to be promoted.
Keep the great, the terrible, the comforting, and the strangely unforgettable in one honest history.
Reviews are better when someone you know can disagree with them.
A note from the founders
“We wanted the movie and show app We'd actually open after leaving the theater.”
Picturelock started with a simple frustration: the apps that knew what we watched didn't know why we cared, and the places where friends talked about movies made it hard to keep any of that history.
So this is an attempt to put both halves together—a useful personal archive and a genuinely social place. It is still growing, and the people using it are helping decide what it becomes.
